Jean Mare visits Tag Rugby®

Home / General news / Jean Mare visits Tag Rugby®

The Tag Rugby® Association has been privileged to have been hosting French students for the past four years. These students travel the world in search of the best practices in terms of Social Development through sport.

Last month Mr Jean Mare joined us for two weeks, both in the office and on the sports fields, to witness how the Tag Rugby® Association make use of sport as a tool to engage social issues.  He was thrilled to be able to witness the work that we do in our various programmes. A definite highlight for him was attending a Tag Rugby® festival in Langa, a township in Cape Town, where he encountered children from Zimasa Primary School. He was very encouraged to see the quality of the skills that these children have. He was so moved by this encounter and felt it was hugely important to nurture these skills, that he has adopted Zimasa Primary school so that they too can be a part of our Adopt-a School programme. This generous donation means that Zimasa Primary now has their own Tag Rugby® equipment and they receive formal coaching from our Tag coaches for a year. We would like to thank Jean for PLAYING HIS PART and we hope that our paths will cross again in the future.
