On the 9th September 2016, the Gary Kirsten Oval in Rondebosch was buzzing with children, parents and teachers playing, watching and enjoying Tag Rugby®. We started with our grade R Little Bosch teams who had their end of term tournament. There is always great excitement as the boys are given the opportunity to play formal matches and put into practice all that they have learnt.

Our annual grade 1 festival was hosted by Rondebosch Boys’Prep School and brings schools from different parts of Cape Town together to play Tag Rugby against each other. The level of tag that was on display was very encouraging and the teams competed against one another enthusiastically. All of these schools are on Tag Rugby programmes and our coaches work with the children at least once a week. We had 14 teams from the following schools:

  • Rondebosch Boys’Prep School (Rondebosch)
  • Rosmead Central Primary (Lansdowne)
  • Sweet valley Primary (Bergvliet)
  • Sun Valley Primary (Noordhoek)
  • Siyabulela Primary(Langa)

It was a fantastic afternoon and we are particularly proud of the excellent sportsmanship that was on display both on and off the field.
