TagBOKS
The South African Tag Rugby teams, known as the TagBOKS, are travelling to the UK in July this year to compete in a test series against Great Britain. This Tag Rugby test series is the return leg of a tour undertaken by Great Britain teams in December 2022, where the teams competed against the TagBOKS in Cape Town.
Previously the TagBOKS travelled to Ireland in 2023 to compete in the 2023 ITF World Cup in Limerick. The teams did South Africa proud and represented the country with great humility. Incredibly, the TagBOKS were awarded South African National Sporting Colours by SASCOC, an achievement that is both an honour and a privilege.

Support the TagBOKS
The upcoming UK tour is self-funded. The players come from diverse backgrounds and are extremely reliant on donations and sponsorships to get themselves onto the playing field to represent South Africa.
The players who have been selected will be a part of the TagBOKS programme for the next three years as we work extremely hard to prepare for the International Tag Federation Tag World Cup in 2026. The commitment that these players require to compete on the international stage is tremendous and it would be extremely rewarding for them to be able to focus on fitness and skills, rather than stressing about fundraising and payment deadlines.
From the TagBOKS Captain, Kyle Saunders
“I’m very grateful for how sponsorships can help me focus on just the training part of being in a national setup. It’s never been easy but always worth it in the end to work hard and get in all funds needed to compete at the highest levels. It’s a total mindset shift to be able just focus and not stress about fundraising.”
